Recommended frequency for oil changes in a vehicle with low mileage

I own both a vehicle for regular use and one specifically designed for transporting my family. The BMW M5 serves as my recreational vehicle, and I typically accumulate an annual mileage of between 3,000 to 5,000 kilometers.

Should I replace the oil annually or semi-annually, regardless of the mileage?

I have consistently performed the oil service on an annual basis, except in cases were the mileage was very low. Less than 2,000. Nevertheless, I often continue to do it on an annual basis.

I typically cover a consistent amount of miles each year and do oil changes throughout both the winter and summer seasons. While I acknowledge that I am spending some money unnecessarily, I am not in favor of the alterations you have made. I am now contemplating whether or not I should go with the transmission oil change, which is typically recommended after 8 years or 50,000 miles of use. All other items were replaced at 25,000 miles.

Unless you only engage in brief journeys, replacing high-quality synthetic oil every 6 months, even if the mileage is less than 2,000 miles (or even twice that), is just a total squandering of resources.

I would only consider doing it once a year.

I would consider an annual frequency to be reasonable.
Unless you are exposed to very low or high temperatures for extended periods of time when your vehicle is parked outdoors and covered in snow for half of the year.
Then, why not do it twice?

I believe that having the opportunity to vote once per year is acceptable.

Nevertheless, I personally choose to replace both my oil and oil filter every 5,000 miles, with a maximum interval of 6,000 miles.

I concur. Regarding all of our automobiles, the warranty period is either 1 year or 5,000 miles, whichever occurs earlier. This presupposes the use of synthetic oil. Alternatively, I adhere to a schedule of servicing my vehicle every 3,000 miles.
