I am attempting to submit a question and am unable to ascertain the method to do so. I trust I am at the correct location.
The dipstick for the automatic gearbox of my 1990 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC is damaged. The red cap for removal has detached. I need a replacement dipstick. I am uncertain about my web findings and reluctant to make a purchase due to the possibility of acquiring the incorrect item. They are designated as NOT a dipstick to be retained inside the transmission tube. They are just for the purpose of verifying fluid levels and are to be thereafter removed.
I like to get an OEM dipstick for my vehicle that stays securely inside the tube, similar to the original component. It ought to be straightforward; but, I attribute my bewilderment to my advanced age of 84 years.
I appreciate anyone who can guide me appropriately.
