  2. Any members out there utilize a vehicle cover? Please offer any advice or tips for buying and purchasing one. I own a 2018 Gen 2 R8 and want to get a vehicle cover for enhanced protection and to maintain cleanliness when it is at home. I reside on a hilltop, where the updraft carries various leaves and dust from the lower elevations. It is often astonishing that as soon as the garage door opens, leaves and debris immediately enter, making it impossible to prevent the intrusion of the elements. As the rainy season starts, I want to prevent the dripping from the garage door onto the vehicle during its opening and shutting. I understand the extra protection from any dents and bumps is another great feature of certain coverings. Kindly provide any suggestions or advice. Thank you in advance

  4. To ascertain the oil level while the engine is cool, I just remove the dipstick and examine it. The reading may change somewhat from one obtained after driving the engine at optimal temperature and after shutting it down for five minutes, but I can accept that. Provided you maintain consistency in your methodology, you may monitor any oil use by mental comparison to the previous measurement. It is my shortcut, but it is more logical for me to see it as a pre-start checklist. The critical moment to ascertain if an engine has sufficient oil is prior to its ignition.
  5. It is essential to conduct frequent checks under consistent settings. I anticipate it will report a lower value on the stick immediately post-shutdown compared to after an overnight period. The owner's handbook has either become much more strict about dipstick reading, or I have not examined my closely enough. I have never seen the practice of removing the fill cap prior to assessing the fluid level, nor the need of operating the engine before evaluating the level. That is just absurd. I ensure that every engine has sufficient oil prior to starting it.

  7. Ensure that you inspect all the drainage lines around the panoramic roof. I recommend taking it to the dealer and informing them that you hear water. Neglecting this issue may result in water ruining the vehicle's electrical harness. I experienced it on a Volvo XC60. All panoramic roofs must have their drain lines inspected periodically, particularly if the vehicle is parked outside. The conduits will get obstructed, hindering adequate water drainage.

It is reassuring to learn that it is accessible on the P550e, since it was entirely unattainable on the P510e (albeit not an issue for the P440e) at the time I placed my purchase for the vehicle. I own four genuine seats in my vehicle, and for that expenditure, I expect to have the ability to choose the temperature control settings independently for each seat, as I have always had in every previous car with four genuine seats that I have had, even those from two decades ago. Possessing a 3-zone temperature control system is analogous to having three buttons for window operation. Two for the front doors and one for each back doors. Why?
  9. The concept of three-zone climate control is somewhat bothersome. I am experiencing the same issue with the P510e. All previous versions are available with 4 zones; however, the P510e (and presumably the P550e) is limited to 3 zones.

  14. I strongly advise against driving the vehicle vigorously until this issue is resolved. Over-revving the engine may have severe consequences and put its lifespan at risk. I am curious as to why there are no codes present. It is my understanding that XENTRY was used to do code checks, correct?
  15. When was the transmission fluid last inspected and/or replaced? There may be several factors contributing to the problem. Firstly, the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) should have a safety mechanism in place to prevent the vehicle from exceeding its maximum engine speed (redline). I am curious whether the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is defective and failing to provide accurate instructions to the gearbox, but the transmission itself is in good condition.
  16. There seems to be a malfunction with the rpm limiter. It is advisable to refrain from driving the vehicle until a scanner is connected to diagnose the issue. Continuously exceeding the red line may potentially cause damage to the engine.
  17. Unfortunately, this is a concerning matter since I am not familiar with any other instances of this problem occurring with this particular transmission. Another worry of mine is that it let the automobile to exceed the redline, which is very undesirable and problematic. It is very important to connect a scanner to the automobile, especially if this action is performed often. The scanner will be able to detect and retrieve codes, allowing you to examine the information that is returned.

  19. Contact the land rover roadside assistance hotline. If the automobile has remote connection, I believe they would be able to assist you with unlocking it. If not, I am certain that any skilled locksmith can unlock the automobile. Typically, a tiny balloon is inserted into the upper corner of the door and inflated slightly to provide space for a tool to reach the unlock button or door handle. The inflation device will create a gap by flexing the upper part of the door, but it is unlikely to do any harm to the door. I have observed people using it on various types of automobiles without encountering any problems.
