abovePleasant
Greetings, everyone. I purchased a replacement LCI M steering wheel for my 2018 BMW 530i, which is a pre-LCI model. Upon installation, everything functions well except for the cruise control button; pressing the set button triggers an error on the dashboard. I am also included images of the steering wheel, the problem message, and my previous steering wheel.Perhaps someone altered the requirements for additional code; if anybody is knowledgeable, please assist me.Thank you. Melonslab
LCI steering wheel buttons are incompatible with pre-LCI vehicles.
jaybx
What is the distinction or need for an update that I could be overlooking? Is the button configuration or functionality altered, or is it a mechanical issue? I assume VSS became standard on LCI M steering; is that the distinction you want, OP? EpicTraveler
I am uncertain, but I believe that, because yours lacked the CC buttons earlier, it cannot register them.
EpicTraveler
I was informed that it is feasible, provided the buttons correspond to your prior ones. I am considering purchasing a new M-wheel with paddle shifters, since my current M-wheel lacks this feature. I was informed that everything is plug-and-play, except for the paddles, which need coding. I reside in the EU, however I am uncertain whether that has any significance. HistoryBuff
Those buttons function properly on pre-LCI models.
