What do the IBS recall components resemble?

Recommended Posts

It has been reported that 1.5 million automobiles are implicated in this recall.

I am inquisitive: What is the appearance of the faulty component(s)? Can this be held in the palm of your hand, or is it the whole system? What portion of the vehicle must be dismantled for repair or replacement? In which areas of most cars are the damaged components situated?

Inquisitive individuals seek knowledge.

Numerous stories are available online regarding the financial impact BMW is experiencing due to the brake recall and cease sale. The papers indicate that the "fix" is software designed to alert the driver in advance on any issues with the IBS.Should a motorist get the notice, they would theoretically have sufficient time to reach a service facility for repairs.I do not believe that BMW is systematically substituting a component with a failure rate of less than 1% across 1.5 million cars. This was similarly executed in Australia. My further understanding is that the program will be launched on September 19th.Kindly share your perspective if anybody has an other interpretation of the issue.

The "fix" mentioned online pertains to some European and other nations that will permit the defective IBS under their legislation. The United States does not, and the solution for the cease sale will include a component replacement and a software update to circumvent the 170-mile stipulation of the recall remedy.

I can only speak for Switzerland.

The program would indicate a malfunction, prompting BMW to take appropriate action. That is what my dealer informed me.

Is this justifiable? That is an excellent inquiry. If the failure is not abrupt, such as a complete brake failure, then what may account for it, such as a progressive decline in pressure?

One week ago, my VIN indicated a recall for the wiring harness HV cable on my 2024 i7.

As of today, September 15, my VIN does not indicate the wire harness recall; nevertheless, it now reflects the concerning worldwide brake recall impacting half of BMW's range. What on earth?

Has anybody else recently received the brake recall notification after an extended period without it?
