Are headers worth the investment?

Recommended Posts

I own a 2014 vehicle with a 5.2-liter engine and I am considering buying headers.

I own a Fabspeed valved exhaust already.

I am interested to know whether there is a discernible difference in sound between the original manifold and aftermarket headers. If such is the case, is it only a matter of tone or volume, considering that it is already too loud?
What is the disparity in HP?

Is the effort used worth the outcome achieved?

I believe that I am the only one present who has successfully executed the installation process. The disparity in noise level is more pronounced, but I would not describe it as irritating. I have a straight piped exhaust system with LMS 200cell catalytic headers. I suppose the stock is 1000 cells. I saw a little increase in horsepower, but a significant boost in torque. By installing headers and bigger MAF housings/filters, I achieved a significant increase of 54 ft/lbs in wheel torque.

Several months ago, I had to repair a damaged stock manifold. I believed that I was removing the engine, so it seemed logical to proceed with removing the headers.

After doing extensive investigation, I have concluded that the majority of these items are of poor quality and lack value. Although LMS systems seem to have the fewest problems, the financial benefits are not significant enough to justify their use. From my perspective. I often use my automobile and wanted to ensure that anything I applied on it will withstand all weather conditions and be durable. The logical decision was to replace the original manifold.

Ultimately, I successfully replaced the right side manifold without the need to remove the engine. The price of the manifold was still 3,000 dollars, which is rather amusing.
